Introduction
The Michigan Transition To Independence (MITTIN) is a Virtual Life Skills Library of dynamic online modules which foster the development of independent living skills in the home and community. Designed to support special education transition-related instruction, these virtual reality resources are free and available to parents, schools, educators and students in Michigan. MITTIN is a partnership of the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE), Michigan Council for Exceptional Children (MCEC), Great Lakes Reality Labs (GLRL) and Public Policy Associates (PPA).
The purpose of this resource is to provide information on topics in the library and installation instructions.
This document is divided into multiple sections.
The "Topics" section will provide you with information about each task, including the storylines, play-through videos, and supplemental materials.
The "Installation" section will help you download, install, and launch the modules for Chromebook and Windows.
The most convenient method of installing the game is by using the Steam platform. Steam will handle all installation and updates for you without the need to continuously download new files.
If your district does not allow access to Steam, you can download the zipped executable directly.
To install the game on a Chromebook device, you will need to use Google's Play Store.
The "Troubleshooting" section will help you fix common issues that users have reported.
